Myth Busting

Every Summer I am asked the same question about using a facial oil – Won’t it make my skin oily? So many patients stop putting oils on their face for fear that they'll cause breakouts. Whilst the wrong oil can block pores, the right blend of facial oil will continue to feed the skin, giving it the support to rebalance sebum production, moisturise and brighten the complexion. This is because essential oil molecules are more easily absorbed than water soluble ones, allowing them to provide vital nourishment, putting back what the summer takes out! So just as you adjust the food you eat and clothes you wear for the season, you should look too at what you are putting on your skin from the outside, and make adjustments and you'll look as good as you feel!
