Ambrosie: Ginger Tea
Ginger tea is a wonderful remedy to soothe an upset stomach, warm you on those bitterly cold days and it’s great for cold and flu season. Above all – it is delicious. It just makes me feel brighter!
- 1 tbsp fresh grated ginger
- 2 cups filtered water
- 1 tbsp raw honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 lemon, juiced
- 1-2 sprigs of mint
- 1 cinnamon stick
- Chamomile flower
- Echinacea tincture
- Pinch of cayenne pepper
Peel the ginger root with a peeler or with the back of a spoon
Grate the ginger, or if you slice it, slice it thinly and use more
Use a saucepan - bring the water to a boil, add ginger. If you are using cinnamon, mint, chamomile, echinacea or cayenne, add it here too. Turn off heat. Put the lid on it and let it steep for 10 minutes.
Or in a teapot, add ginger in the teapot (with the other ingredients if using) and pour boiling water in it. Let it steep for about 10 minutes.
Add fresh lemon juice and natural sweetener if you like. Stir and sip! Ax
