A quick pitstop in... The Hamptons
My recent travels in the States took me for a flying visit to the Hamptons for a de Mamiel Cleansing Masterclass at Goop’s pop up store in Sag Harbour. We were lucky enough to do the class on the store’s beautiful shaded terrace. Of course, being in Sag Harbor, I took the opportunity to explore all that this gorgeous seaside village has to offer. If you find yourself in New York or the Hamptons, do try and visit this little gem of a place.
Here are a few of my recommendations for the area… Ax
Grindstone Coffee, Sag Harbor
I always start my day with a freshly brewed black coffee and sometimes find myself in need of a quick fix during the day. Grindstone’s espresso definitely did the job. I did manage to resist their lemon, poppy and cinnamon sugar donuts though!
7 Main Street, Sag Harbor
Le Bibloquet, Sag Harbor
The dreamy terrace at this French bistro is somewhere to while away several hours watching the comings and goings of the busy harbour, enjoying a classic Nicoise salad.
1 Long Wharf, Sag Harbor
Goop Pop Up Store, Sag Harbor
Goop have taken a traditional cottage and turned it into the world’s chicest general store. You can even pick up supplies for a beachside picnic in the garden section. This is where I was lucky enough to hold my masterclass in the late afternoon sunshine.
4 Bay Street, Sag Harbor
Tutto Il Giorno Sag Harbor
I love the story of how the founder of this restaurant felt Sag Harbor was the American parallel of the small fishing village of Naples in his home country. Be careful - a late breakfast can easily turn into a long lunch!
16 Main Street, Sag Harbor
If you can’t get to the Hamptons this summer, you can bring a little of it home by making this rose ice. I loved this idea and am planning on making it for my next summer get together.
